F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon[]
The South River Wastewater Treatment Plant is the first area Replica Forces make a full-force strike on, being led there by Paxton Fettel. Paxton discovers that Bill Moody, an Armacham Technology Corporation employee, is at the plant researching water contamination levels for a report on the abandonment of the Auburn District. Paxton believes that Moody will know where Paxton's mother, Alma Wade, is being held.
The F.E.A.R. team arrives at the plant sometime after Paxton and his men, accompanied by Delta Force. At the gate into the facility, Alma Wade appears and liquefies the entire Delta Force squad, leaving the F.E.A.R. Point Man to explore the facility alone. By the time the Point Man enters the plant, all of the workers have been killed by either Alma or the Replicas. While exploring the plant, the Point Man is confronted by Alma, who attempts to kill him. Due to his superhuman speed and reflexes, the Point Man is able to escape her attack, and is blown out a window by the force of an explosion triggered by Alma. From that point onward, Alma begins to appear continuously to the Point Man, though she does not attack him again until the end of the game.
The Point Man eventually finds Bill Moody, but the ATC employee has already been taken hostage by Paxton. Paxton interrogates Moody, demanding to know where Alma is, but Moody does not answer him satisfactorily. Moody is partially cannibalized by the time the Point Man finds him, but is still alive just enough to issue a cryptic warning about Alma and Project Origin.
The Replicas then begin to leave the facility, shifting their attack to Armacham Technology Corporation Headquarters. Paxton, having gained all the information he needs, is evacuated via a Hind D Gunship.
