Fighting a Spectre in Soul Survivor.
Soul Survivor is a counter-operative, competitive multiplayer mode in F.E.A.R. 3. In this mode, a F.E.A.R. squad fights to survive. This mode features three maps: "Sub Rosa," "You're Done Here!", and "Final Descent."
At the start of a round, all four members of the F.E.A.R. squad spawn with Briggs SMGs and pistols. However, after a few seconds, one member becomes corrupted at random (although a player can only be corrupted automatically once per match) to become a Spectre. As AI controlled soldiers spawn, the Spectre must possess them and use these soldiers to take down the F.E.A.R. team and press the revive button next to them to corrupt them and convert them into a Spectre. The last man standing also has the option of leaving the battlefield through an exit.
Points are accumulated from round to round until the end of the match, with the survivors scoring together as a team (excluding those that become corrupted) and the Spectre earning points for taking down all the survivors before the time runs out. The winner of the match is the player with the most points total.
Trivia[]
- The name of this multiplayer mode is a pun of "Sole Survivor."
- If the F.E.A.R. Team looks at one of the exit doors, their cross hair will turn blue, but if a specter looks at the door, it turns red. If any player shots the door, they will get a hit marker, but nothing happens to the door.
- If playing solo and the player goes down, a random Spectre will spawn in to corrupt him/her. It can be shot and killed, scoring a revive.
