Interval 04 - Malice - Leviathan is the first part of Interval 04 from F.E.A.R Extraction Point

After being thrown off the tracks and onto a parking garage, Point Man must instead find another route to Auburn Memorial, this level marks the debut of another new enemy: The REV8 Leviathan.

Initial Brief[]

SITUATION:

Replica forces have detonated large quantities of explosives in the subway system in order to prevent your escape.

The resulting explosion has blown you onto a nearby parking garage.

Find your way out of this parking garage and to the adjacent medical center.

MISSION:

Exit the parking garage and head towards the medical center.

Walkthrough[]

Shortly after beginning, a Replica Helicopter will circle around and open fire on the player for a brief time, it deals a decent amount of damage to try your best to avoid it. There will be a medkit and armor to the right of where you spawn, next on the  left you will see a MOD-3 Multi-Rocket Launcher, the labelled crate next it contains two more MOD-3s, grab them and continue on, there will be an REV6, get closer before using the MOD-3 as your shots may miss, head back to collect any MOD-3 ammo as you will definitely need it for an upcoming fight. The cars on top the parking garage will explode, so be careful. Once the REV6 is done for, head to the corner of the parking garage. The middle part of the garage contains a grenade box with 2 frags, and a medkit next to it.

Down the stairs to the next area, there is a HV Penetrator next to the dead Replica Desert soldier and a medkit next to the red door, grab them if needed and continue through said door. Upon exiting there will be a squad of Replicas running off, two Laser Elites with G2A2 Assault Rifles will stay behind however and you'll have to deal with them.  There is a G2A2 next to a dead Delta Force soldier. Before venturing further, there will be two explosive crates on the right. One contains two frags, the other is already opened with a MOD-3 laying in front of it, with an armor pick up. Grab the Rocket launcher if you haven't already, you're going to need it. Venture further down into the parking garage.

Once you get closer, a Replica will yell "Bring in the powered armor!" and two Desert soldiers will open fire on you. They will be killed shortly thereafter by Extraction Point's newest enemy: The REV8 Leviathan. This is the REV6's hunky successor and is much harder to kill. They're bigger and soak up even more. Use Slow-Mo and get as many rockets fired at it as possible, side step to avoid it's own rockets. Careful of the yellow car and other cars it can push into you as they're instant kills. However even a MOD-3 with full ammo isn't enough, so bring out a Penetrator. It will be killed roughly in one full clip if all your MOD-3 shots hit. Careful of the camera shaking when it pushes itself into pillars to destroy them. Turrets are also great for distractions, though they will usually be destroyed easily.

Once the REV8 is destroyed, there is a room on the right contained a labeled box with a medkit. The Desert Soldiers also dropped their RPLs, though you probably don't need them. At the end of the parking garage floor there is three more MOD-3s, two of which are in a crate, a medkit and an explosives box with two frags. Refill on MOD-3, as you're going to be fighting one more REV8. Before going further down, you'll notice enemy Proximity mines have been placed. Destroy them as needed and continue onwards. Turn to the right and another REV8 will be targeting a squad of Delta Force soldiers. Don't target the REV8 as one of the Delta Force soldiers sets off a giant explosion, killing themselves but also the powered armor in the process. But your victory is to be short-lived as another REV8 will activate from behind the armored truck and target you, employ the same tactics you used for the first one. Be careful as there will also be a single lone Elite soldier armed with a VK-12. two of the Delta Force soldiers were using MOD-3s, so grab them if needed though there isn't another REV8 encounter for the rest of the level, the other soldier had a G2A2. The next ramp has enemy mines, so be careful and destroy them before going deeper.

On the final floor, head straight to the double doors next to the soda machine and follow right. You will enter a large room, head right instead for some supplies, the Unknown Origin radio signal will play, but don't pay much attention to it. In the room with the two dead Delta Force soldiers, they each have a G2A2 next to them, one has a proximity mine, a second can be found in a corner of the room next to a medkit and armor on a table. In front of the entrance there is a medkit with a single frag. Continue further and you'll be drawn into a hallucination, once it ends, head to a white door on the right (it will flash when you're near it) and through the white door straight ahead. In that room a medkit is right beside the door. Head out through the next white door. In the next room there is only two frags on a table on the left corner. Proceed to the white door next to the self and make a left down the long hall, don't worry as nothing appears or happens down this hall (except for some disturbing radio calls by Jin).

Proceed through the first set of double doors, then into the next. You'll be in a small supply room. On the left is a VK-12 Shotgun, armor, an explosive box with 4 frags and a phone you can answer. On the right are three G2A2s propped against a wall, an ASP Rifle right next to a Proximity mine, two medkits and another armor pick up. Proceed through the next set of double doors and into the large arena.

As soon as you enter, two SMG-wielding Elites will rope down opening fire, duck down behind the desk to avoid being gunned down as they rope. There is a Fatigue soldier above armed with an ASP rifle providing sniper support, take him out. Now you can focus on the Elites, all of which except the ones who roped down are armed with G2A2s. Another threat in the form of a Laser Elite with a Laser Carbine will show himself from the right, take him down as you see fit. The ASP Rifle can be handy here, or the MP-50 if you saved it from the last level. If you're unable to stay behind the desk, there's a room to the right you can run into. It contains no supplies but can be used as a flanking route. Across the arena is another office, this one does contain supplies however, two medkits and an armor pickup. Once you've cleared out the ground floor, head to the scaffolding, there is a yellow ladder on the left side of it, just behind the collapsed beam. Don't forget the ASP rifle the sniper dropped earlier.

Once on top, holster any weapon you're holding and jump over to the other side. Reequip your weapon then proceed through the opened gate and be ready to take on more elites. The leftmost one has a VK-12 while the other two have a G2A2. Head to the left of the room and straight forward. On the right through a barricaded set of doors, Alma will be there to tell you to hurry, but you're in no rush so no worries. Head through the wooden door on the left, two elites, one armed with a shotgun and the other with an assault rifle will be inside the small control room, use slow-mo to make quick work of them. There are two AT-14 pistols on the console and an armor pickup on the shelf behind it, a medkit next to the fire extinguisher. Activate the console's blue button and then proceed right and jump over the same obstacle again and head through the adjacent gate.

On your left will be an Elite, take him out quickly. Two more elites will be down the next hall, your biggest threat is the Heavy Armor on the other end holding a Type-7. He will kill you in just a few clean shots so make sure you have adequate cover. Set a trap for him with proximity mines or M77 bombs. If you have the Laser Carbine for earlier that would come in handy here. Take him out and take his Type-7 if you want. Head through the double doors on the left and around the stairs. Head through the other double doors. The office behind the glass on the left holds an armor pickup, a medkit, and an explosive box with four grenades. Jankowski will pay you a surprise visit around the next corner and also tell you to hurry, but again you're in no rush. Instead go through the wooden door on the left from where he disappears, this small office contains two more AT-14 pistols, another phone for you to answer, and a medkit, exit through the other wooden door.

There will be multiple Fatigue soldiers on the other end of the platform, all except one are armed with a G2A2, the other one being armed with a Type-7. Take the Type-7 wielding Replica out. Grenades are effective at this part, grab his Type-7 when you're done if needed and continue through the double doors, they take you into a hallucination where you need to pick paths or else you'll be sent back to the start. Fettel will begin talking over your radio. Do not go through the elevator, instead head left until you see Jin running by. Nightmares will spawn. If you have a Penetrator or pistols, they will kill them in one hit. Slow-Mo isn't instantly activated here so be careful. Once they're done for, simply walk to the right and through that blue portal where Jin did. Afterwards, you'll be taken to an office where you hear Jin sounding a little worse for the wear just ahead. Follow the blood trail adjacent to where you are and you will come across Jin, dead. At least you tried. Continue on to the hall.

To the right are some supplies, an ASP Rifle, an explosive box containing 4 frags, two medkits and an armor pickup. Grab what you need and go to the door at the far end. Replica will order another to "Cover the door." so be careful. There will be about three Fatigue soldier armed with ASP Rifles on the floor above straight ahead. If you have the Type-7, it will be effective here, same with the ASP Rifle. Hop across to the other side when they're dead and go through either the left or right door. They will take you to a large office filled with Elites. There is a Laser Elite with the Laser Carbine at the very end. All of the Elites use ASP rifles making this room a challenge. There is also a single enemy deployable turret. The VK-12 isn't effective here due to the size, so a Penetrator would be decent for this part. Alternatively you could use your remaining Type-7 or ASP rifle ammo against the Replica. There is a single medkit on the cubicle closest to the left door, and one on the right end side, sitting on a counter, there is also a phone to answer in another one of the cubicles. Head through the double doors and don't stop as a Replica gunship will hover to fire at you, run to the other end and through the doors.

You have reached Auburn Memorial Hospital.
