Ghost Soldiers are specters of dead soldiers (mostly Replica troops) seen in F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin and F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn. They appear suddenly and can move very fast, as they have the similar ability as Slow-Mo used by the player. They are just as accurate with their weapons as standard Replica soldiers/Elite ATC Troopers but are harder to kill due to their speed. On the other hand, they have very little health and will disappear after three shots or less from any gun. Using Slow-Mo to fight them is highly recommended. Although they can be considered ghosts of former soldiers, they do not drop weapons or ammo when killed.
Monolith Timeline[]
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin[]
Technically speaking, only one Ghost Soldier appears in F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin; the spirit of Harold Keegan. He acts, fights, and dies exactly the same as the other Ghost Soldiers. None of the standard Ghost Soldiers appear in Project Origin. The number of times the Ghost Keegan can appear is infinite, and can appear up to 5 or 6 at one time, until the player complete the objective, he will constantly fight Ghost Keegan.
F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn[]
Foxtrot 813 encounters several Ghost Soldiers in F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn. They act the same as the spirit of Harold Keegan when fought at the end of Project Origin but have a different character model, which is that of the Deformed Replicas. It is possible that Alma Wade and Paxton Fettel still have significant control over the Replicas, as the spirits are sent by them during various parts of the game. Since Ghost Soldiers are treated as standard enemies in Reborn and are sometimes encountered with other enemies, namely Specters, they are a bit tougher to kill, the accuracy of the Ghost Soldiers is improved to be on par with Replica Elite Soldier, and this makes them more dangerous.
Trivia[]
- In F.E.A.R. 3, the Replica soldiers that are summoned by the Creep are referred to as Ghost Soldiers in challenges. These Ghost Soldiers have the same appearance, behavior, and health as living Replica forces. However, they do not speak, or make any sounds when hurt or killed.
